Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm Showcases Regenerative Tourism Leadership at PATA Nepal Himalayan Travel Mart 2026

Advancing Nepal’s Future Through Regenerative Hospitality and Sustainable Tourism

Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm proudly participated in the PATA Nepal Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) 2026 as the Sustainable Hospitality Partner, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward positioning Nepal as a global leader in regenerative tourism and climate-conscious hospitality.

Held under the leadership of PATA Nepal Chapter, the event brought together tourism professionals, international buyers, industry experts, government representatives, and sustainability advocates from around the world to explore the future of responsible tourism in Nepal and the Himalayan region.

A Platform for Meaningful Tourism Transformation

The official program commenced on 1st June 2026 and featured high-level discussions, presentations, networking sessions, and business meetings focused on sustainable tourism development, innovation, destination resilience, and community-centered travel experiences.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Honorable Ms. Sunima Udas, Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the International Relations and Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal. Throughout the event, tourism leaders and experts shared valuable insights on creating a more responsible and regenerative future for tourism.

The presence of distinguished international tourism leaders, including PATA International Chair Andrew Jones, further elevated the significance of the event and reinforced the global momentum toward sustainable and regenerative tourism practices.

Showcasing Regenerative Tourism from the Lens of Prakriti Resort

One of the key highlights of the event was the presentation delivered by our Regenerative Tourism Coordinator, Aakash Silpakar, titled:

“Regenerative Tourism from the Lens of Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm.”

The presentation showcased the transformative journey of Prakriti Resort—from implementing sustainability-focused initiatives to embracing a comprehensive regenerative tourism model that actively contributes to environmental restoration, community wellbeing, and destination enhancement.

Key areas highlighted during the session included:

  • Ecosystem restoration and biodiversity enhancement
  • Organic farming and food sovereignty
  • Community engagement and local empowerment
  • Wellness and nature-based experiences
  • Climate-conscious operations
  • Cultural preservation and authentic guest experiences
  • Sustainable destination management
  • Positive environmental and social impact creation

The presentation emphasized that regenerative hospitality goes beyond reducing harm. It focuses on restoring ecosystems, strengthening communities, preserving culture, and creating measurable positive outcomes for both people and the planet.

The session received strong interest from tourism professionals, international delegates, and industry stakeholders seeking innovative approaches to sustainable tourism development.

Recognition from Nepal’s Tourism Leadership

A particularly encouraging moment during the event was the visit of Honorable Khadak Raj Paudel, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, to the exhibition area.

During interactions with tourism stakeholders, Prakriti Resort formally extended an invitation to the Minister for a familiarization visit to our property. The Minister shared that a dedicated committee comprising representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Nepal Tourism Board, ICIMOD Nepal, and Hotel Association Nepal has been formed to study and formulate future green tourism policies for Nepal.

We were honored to learn that Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm has been identified as one of the first destinations to be visited by the committee to observe practical examples of regenerative and sustainability-based tourism initiatives. This recognition serves as a strong motivation for our team to continue leading by example.

Strengthening Global Partnerships for Regenerative Hospitality

Another major focus of our participation was highlighting our growing collaboration with Regenera Luxury, an international platform dedicated to advancing regenerative luxury hospitality.

Throughout the event, we proudly showcased our shared vision for tourism that restores ecosystems, empowers local communities, and creates meaningful guest experiences. Our participation highlighted ongoing certification and recognition initiatives that align with our long-term commitment to positive-impact tourism.

The partnership with Regenera Luxury added international visibility and credibility to our efforts and reinforced our belief that luxury and sustainability can work hand in hand to create a better future for tourism.

Demonstrating Measurable Sustainability Impact

At our exhibition booth, visitors were introduced not only to our vision but also to the measurable outcomes of our sustainability journey.

Today, Prakriti Resort proudly demonstrates:

  • 70% local employment
  • 50% local food procurement
  • 90% domestic sourcing
  • Continuous reduction of greenhouse gas emissions per guest night over the last three years
  • Strong support for local livelihoods and rural economic development
  • Ongoing biodiversity conservation and regenerative farming practices

In alignment with our values, we designed a completely plastic-free exhibition booth featuring locally inspired décor and environmentally responsible materials that reflected our commitment to regenerative hospitality.
