Student Immersion Program: A Day Experience in Regenerative Living

Duration: One day

The Student Immersion Program at Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm is designed as a hands-on learning experience that introduces young learners to the principles of regenerative living, ecological balance, and responsible interaction with nature.

Rather than a conventional field visit, this program encourages students to observe, participate, and reflect—bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world systems.

Learning Objectives

Through this experience, students will:

  • Develop an understanding of soil, food systems, and ecological cycles
  • Explore the concept of regenerative practices in a practical setting
  • Build awareness around waste, resources, and sustainability
  • Engage creatively to reflect on their relationship with nature
  • Experience agriculture as a living, dynamic system

Program Details

  • Duration: 1 Day (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
  • Group Size: Up to 50 students
  • Recommended Age Group: 12–18 years
  • Facilitation: Guided by the Prakriti team

Why This Program Matters

In a time where learning is increasingly disconnected from natural systems, this program offers students an opportunity to:

  • Reconnect with land and food origins
  • Understand interdependence within ecosystems
  • Experience sustainability as a lived practice, not just a concept

Facilitation Approach

The program is designed to be:

  • Interactive rather than lecture-based
  • Experiential rather than theoretical
  • Reflective rather than prescriptive

Students are encouraged to explore, question, and form their own understanding.

Logistics & Requirements

  • Comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear recommended
  • Students should carry water bottles
  • Basic materials for reflection (paper, pencils) will be provided
  • Supervision support from accompanying school staff is encouraged

  1. Arrival & Orientation (10:00 – 10:20 AM)

Students are welcomed into the space and introduced to the core idea of regenerative living. A short grounding activity helps them become present and attentive to their surroundings.

  1. Guided Farm & Landscape Exploration (10:20 – 11:45 AM)

Students explore the farm in smaller groups, engaging with different aspects of the ecosystem:

  • Organic farming and soil health practices
  • Composting and biochar systems
  • Water management and landscape design
  • Native biodiversity and plant systems
  • Waste and resource cycles

The session is interactive, encouraging observation, questioning, and sensory engagement.

  1. Tea Harvesting Experience (11:45 – 12:15 PM)

Students participate in a guided tea leaf picking activity, learning about traditional harvesting methods and the connection between labor, land, and produce.

  1. Break & Refreshments (12:15 – 12:45 PM)

A short rest period with light refreshments, allowing students to relax and absorb the experience.

  1. Hands-On Learning Activity (12:45 – 1:45 PM)

Students engage in a participatory activity such as:

  • Soil exploration and understanding living soil
  • Planting activity and care practices
  • Waste-to-resource demonstration (composting/upcycling)

This segment emphasizes learning through doing.

  1. Reflection & Creative Sharing (1:45 – 2:30 PM)

Students gather in a natural setting to reflect on their experience through drawing or writing.

Prompts guide them to think about:

  • What they observed
  • What felt new or surprising
  • How they relate to nature in their daily lives

Selected students may share their reflections with the group.

  1. Closing & Departure (2:30 – 3:00 PM)

The session concludes with key takeaways and a closing circle, reinforcing the idea that small, conscious actions can contribute to larger ecological change.
