Permaculture farming

At Prakriti , permaculture is not just a concept—it is the foundation of how the land is nurtured, and how tourism and agriculture are integrated responsibly. The resort treats every part of the landscape as a living system, where soil, water, plants, animals, and humans all work together in harmony.

Farming in Harmony with Nature
At Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm, our farm is more than just a place where food grows—it is a living system where nature and people work together.
We follow permaculture principles, meaning we observe nature and design our farm to be self-sustaining, regenerative, and waste-free. Everything you see here—from plants and animals to soil and water—is connected.
Farm-to-Table Experience
Most of the food you enjoy at Prakriti is grown right here on our land. This reduces food miles, supports local resilience, and ensures fresh, healthy meals for our guests.
Water & Land Care
We use natural systems like swales, ponds, and contour farming to capture rainwater, prevent soil erosion, and keep the land fertile and alive.
Turning Waste into Life: Biochar
We convert waste wood into biochar, a special form of charcoal that helps improve soil health.
Before adding it to the soil, we enrich it with compost, beneficial microbes, and vermicompost.
This process transforms biochar into a powerful soil booster that:
•Retains water and nutrients
•Supports beneficial soil life
•Helps store carbon in the soil
Vermi composting: Nature’s Recycling System
Our cows and buffaloes provide dung, which is fed to composting worms (vermi wigglers).
These tiny workers turn waste into vermicompost, a nutrient-rich natural fertilizer.
This helps us:
•Recycle organic waste
•Improve soil fertility naturally
•Grow healthier plants without chemicals
A Living Ecosystem
Our farm includes food forests, vegetable gardens, herbs, bees, and free-ranging chickens—all supporting each other. This creates a balanced ecosystem where nature takes care of itself.
Learn & Experience
As our guest, you are welcome to explore, observe, and even participate in these practices. Discover how simple natural systems can restore the land, support communities, and create a more sustainable future
Microbes culture and soil application .
At Prakriti, indigenous microorganisms and Trichoderma are cultured on our own farm and used as natural soil enhancers. These beneficial microbes help break down compost and organic matter into plant-available nutrients, improving soil fertility and supporting healthy plant growth. By introducing these living microorganisms back into the soil, we strengthen the soil’s natural biological activity, enhance nutrient cycling, and improve plant resilience. This practice reduces the need for chemical inputs while enriching soil health, supporting regenerative farming, and sustaining a balanced ecosystem across the farm. Bioenzyme Initiative At Prakriti, we believe regeneration begins at the source, which is why we have fully embraced the use of bioenzymes instead of chemical-based products. Bioenzymes, made by fermenting fruit peels and organic matter, are used in our kitchens, guest rooms, and across all resort facilities as soaps, shampoos, and detergents. These natural cleaners break down fatty acids and bio-particles, enriching the soil with essential NPK nutrients. This simple yet profound change ensures that wastewater leaving the resort is free of toxins, preventing contamination of soil and waterways. By using bioenzymes, we reduce chemical pollution while replenishing natural cycles, demonstrating that even everyday hospitality practices—like cleaning and bathing—can contribute to environmental healing. It reflects our vision of zero waste and closes the loop in how we interact with natural systems. In addition, we have started making our own soap using used cooking oil, further reinforcing our circular, regenerative approach. At Prakriti, bioenzyme-based cleaning solutions play an important role in maintaining hygiene while protecting natural systems. We produce and use bioenzyme soap, a natural, chemical-free cleaning agent used across the resort for handwashing, dishwashing, and general sanitation. Because these cleaners are made from fermented organic materials, the wastewater generated during handwashing or dishwashing can safely flow into soak pits, where the bioenzymes help accelerate the decomposition of organic matter and support the breakdown of blackwater. In the kitchen, greywater first passes through a grease trap and is then directed into a bio-filtration wetland system. The bioenzymes help break down organic waste and fats into simpler nutrients that plants in the wetland can absorb. This process enhances the effectiveness of the treatment system while preventing pollution. Through this approach, Prakriti ensures that everyday cleaning practices not only maintain hygiene but also support soil health, water purification, and the regenerative cycles of the surrounding ecosystem. At Prakriti, waste decomposer microbes are used to naturally break down kitchen waste into compost. These beneficial microorganisms accelerate the decomposition process, transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich soil that feeds our gardens and farm. The compost produced helps nourish soil and plants, improving soil fertility, structure, and microbial life. By returning organic matter back to the land, this practice reduces waste, supports healthy crop growth, and strengthens the natural cycles that sustain our regenerative farming system.
