Prakriti Resort

Testimonial

Wonderful getaway! Service very attentive, rooms rustique-chique, food amazing, organic grown gardens and strawberries! To see the beautiful dam 15 min walking nearby and Langtang mountains in the distance! Also worth mentioning the lovely grey cat to cuddle up to the fire with... Very good value for money, especially during weekdays!

The name of the resort “prakriti “ is Nepali word for nature and this suits 100% in reality. We felt there being in heavenly nature sorrounded by green forest , hills and wide range of mountains. It is hard to believe that we can get into such a wonderful nature just after 2 hours drive from kathmandu. The high elevation of this property gives the experience of most pleasant weather which is frequently changing into misty and sunny and touch of floating clouds make us feel like we are also floating in cloud. The food was amazingly delicious. Service of the staff was great.

Comfort of home, beautiful scenic views and Nepali hospitality all fused together to make Prakriti what it is. It not just a resort, it is an experience. For a long time I had been wanting to take a vacation that feels right to me, allowing me to build a deeper connection with people and the earth, and do so in a sustainable way that does not harm the ecology. I randomly saw a YouTube video about Prakriti and within the same month I was packing my things and flying to Nepal because I needed to see this for myself. While it was as beautiful and serene as I had hoped, the experience was beyond my expectations in some ways. No camera can capture the peaceful night as you are looking down into the valley and a mystical red moon rises from above the hills. No video can capture the beauty of the prayer flags flapping in winds. No review can fully convey the taste of food, made with care and healthy goods. I guess you have to see it yourself to believe it. The peace I felt atop this hill was incomparable. I hiked up to Dhaap Dam and down to Haibung village during day times. These were some of the most interesting (very solitary) hikes I have been on. Sometimes not a soul in sight for miles. Just you, your questions. Perfect place to have a conversation with the divine, right? This is the gift of Prakriti that I will always truly appreciate. Staying at Prakriti, it felt like being at home with family. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Prem ji and others go out of their way to ensure your comfort and ease. One of the main owners himself drove me on the atrocious path up the hills to reach the resort. On the way we found a stranded family whose car broke down. So we gave them a lift up to the resort. This is how community takes care of each other. Not seeing humans as business opportunities but as people who you care for and build meaningful relationships with. At Prakriti, they give you the whole tour and explain everything.

A wonderful place with wonderful views of the surrounding valleys, Himalayan peaks (if there is visibility), stunning, green fruit and strawberry fields around. I dare say that the best place to reset in the Kathmandu area. Very good breakfast and a la carte dishes. Excellent and friendly service. We will definitely come back. Due to the terrain, getting there is a challenge if you don't have a 4WD vehicle. If needed, the resort provides round-trip transportation for an additional fee. However, driving an off-road vehicle was an additional attraction.

This resort has a novel approach and is trying sustainable tourism. They are trying to grow their own vegetables and fruits. The cottages are designed to be eco friendly. We went hiking to Dhap dam from the resort and the owner gave some bags to us and encouraged us to bring back trash on a biodegradable bag. We had a lovely time. I went there with family and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We had Nepali food which was great and the staff were friendly. The road to the resort is not so good and you will need to go there on a SUV.

We hiked through Shiva Puri national park to get to this place. It looks like you could get there by jeep but I'm not sure how to arrange that. Once there you're in a different world. The cottages are cozy and small, electricity is available when the generator is running. Food is excellent. Staff is helpful and friendly. Bathroom and hot shower just a few steps away.
